Review:

I loved this book.  I found it for free (as of 2-9-14) for Nook on Barnes and Noble, you can get it here.  I am always afraid of downloading books that are free just because I have been burned so many times but this one surprised me.  I could not put it down.  It only took me half a day to finish because I refused to leave that world and now I am left with a major book hangover.

I found the pace to be very well planned and even.  I fell for “Zack” easily, he doesn’t come across as arrogant or self righteous even though he is a superstar in the real world.  I can’t quite decide if his Patron is on his side or not yet…

I thought it would be difficult to separate when they were in the Game or in the real world while reading but it wasn’t.  It was relatively easy to follow.  The only hard time I had was keep straight the names of different people, especially when they referred to “Zack’s” past avatars.

There were some grammar errors but it was nothing to hinder the story which, to me, has been very well thought out.  There are twists and mysteries throughout and some do not get answered in this book like who exactly some people are in real life or in game life, making you WANT to read the second.

Barnes and Noble does not have the rest of these books so I will be ordering them from Amazon ASAP 🙂

I would recommend this for ANYONE who loves sci-fi, fantasy, dystopian.  There was no language that I can remember and no sex.

If I had to relate this to something else it would be a Matrix meets Ender’s Game meets [insert favorite dystopian novel].
